QuickTime

This file contains release notes for Developer Release of the QuickTime for Rhapsody. QuickTime enables editing and playback of multimedia content in a variety of video, sound and graphic formats.

Notes Specific to Premier Release

New Features

The QTML Framework and the QuickTimePlayer application are new in Developer Release 2. They offer the following features.

• They are based on QuickTime 3.0
• With them, media files can be opened and played.
• The player enables simple editing features.

Known Problems

• PC graphics cards set to 4444 16-bit pixel format do not get correct results.
• The movie thumb controller sometimes leaves "droppings" behind.
• If the QuickTimePlayer application crashes, sometimes the cursor is left hidden.
• Shift-click and drag in the movie controller doesn't work (use shift-click instead).
• Movies playing offscreen may display incorrectly when brought back onscreen.
• There is no developer access to the QTML framework yet.
• QTVR is not currently supported.
• QD3D is not currently supported.
• MPEG is not currently supported.
